Louisiana Travel Guides:

Serving as the meeting point of the mighty Mississippi River and the Caribbean Sea, Louisiana is maybe the most unique feeling state in America.  The one of a kind vibe in Louisiana stems from a vast blend of cultures, from Native American, Spanish, French, Creole, and Cajun.  From the swamps and gators of the bayou, to the Voodoo and jazz of New Orleans, you’ll feel like you’re in another world in Louisiana.  The State was actually still part of France until 1803 when Napoleon sold the entire territory to the United States, effectively doubling the size of the Unites States.

The life blood of the Pelican State is by far festive New Orleans.  This lively may be famous for Mardi Gras but it was the secret meetings between pirates and generals in both the War of 1812 and the Civil War that really helped to shape the United States.  Do yourself a favor and visit Louisiana as soon as you can!
